SuperCard FAQ

How do I make one window stay on top of other windows all the time?

This window behavior is ordinarily associated with floating palettes, which SuperCard supports directly. Whether in SuperEdit or the Runtime Editor, select "Window Info" from the "Edit" menu to change its style to "Palette". Once a window's style has been set to "palette", its drag bar will be smaller with the usual light gray pattern, and SuperCard will treat that window differently, keeping it in a layer of palette windows which are always above document style windows.

NOTE: The SuperTalk function topWindow ordinarily returns the long id of the topmost window. The exceptions to this rule are palette style windows. These windows will never be returned by topWindow as long as any document window is open. Only if no other non-palette style windows are open will topWindow refer to the topmost palette window.
