How close are SuperTalk and HyperTalk?

SuperTalk is a dialect of the HyperTalk family of languages, what are sometimes collectively referred to as xTalk. SuperTalk is a true superset of the original HyperTalk 1.2x language, with additional syntax to support features not found in HyperCard. Since the creation of HyperCard 2.0, however, the two languages have diverged, with equivalent functionality often implemented later in HyperCard using different syntax. For example, SuperCard menus are implemented as discrete objects, with their own scripts and messages. With HyperCard menus are created on the fly from scripts, and can only contain a single-line command. Also, SuperCard does not currently support "start using", marked cards or HyperCard's report printing features.
